The maca root, from which the powder is extracted, contains 55 phytochemicals that work synergistically with the natural rhythms of the human body. Maca root helps to strengthen the weakened immune system, to remineralize undernourished or poorly fed organisms.
Red maca, in particular, is especially recognized for its very high concentration of antioxidants, the highest of all types of maca, to relieve menopause-related disorders and for its beneficial effects on the prostate. The dry extracts of red maca are excellent for fighting degenerative brain diseases (memory loss, dementia, etc.). The brain is made up of fatty acids in a proportion greater than 60% and in order to function, it produces free radicals but, over time, free radicals are accumulated in the cells and in the long run the production of energy begins to slow down.
